Many summertime staples of the automotive community have been forced to think outside the box to carry on this year. The 2020 Iola Car Show is one such event. Held in July for the last 48 years, Iola is among the long-time official participants of the SEMA-supported national Collector Car Appreciation Day (CCAD) celebration. In a typical year, more than 100,000 visitors enjoy thousands of show cars, swap meet spaces, camp sites, and sale car corral spaces. However, current events have required organizers to come up with a unique idea—the first-ever “Rally for Iola.”
“It broke our hearts to cancel the show but this cruise has us just as excited (well almost)!” organizers stated. “With full cooperation from the Waupaca County Department of Health and the Sheriff's Department, the car show staff has put together a safe and effective plan for the car cruise scheduled for July 11th. The grounds will showcase different iconic aspects of the show for participants to view.” Vehicle staging is set to begin at 8am with the cruise taking place at 10am in groups through the familiar grounds. Refreshments will be available in drive-thru style along the route. For details, visit the Iola Car Show's website.
