Washington State Fails to Pass Military Vehicle Bill as Legislature Adjourns
The Washington state legislature failed to pass SAN-supported legislation (H.B. 1439) that would have allowed for the registration of former military surplus vehicles. “Military surplus vehicles” was defined in the bill as a vehicle that is not operated using continuous tracks, was originally manufactured and sold directly to the armed forces of the United States and is no longer owned by the United States armed forces. Under current law, former military vehicles are not able to be titled in the state. The House Transportation Committee failed to advance the bill prior to adjournment.
Thank you to everyone who voiced support for this effort.
