New Jersey Introduces Bill to Expand Historic Vehicle Usage

- A.B. 3256 provides added incentive to owners of qualifying historic vehicles (more than 25-years old) to register as “historic.”

Overview: SAN-supported legislation (A.B. 3256) has been introduced in New Jersey to allow historic vehicles to be used for pleasure driving one day a week. Currently, vehicles registered as historic must be at least 25 years old and can be driven solely for exhibition and educational purposes. The bill currently awaits consideration in the Assembly Transportation and Independent Authorities Committee.
