Montana legislators amended a troubling vehicle equipment bill at the request of the SEMA Action Network.Hobbyists were concerned with the bill’s limitations for vehicle lighting and other equipment.Legislators agreed to nearly all the SAN’s requests for revisions, including the elimination of a ban on aftermarket lighting.
The bill was also amended to eliminate the outright banning of neon lighting and blue-dot taillights and to treat bumpers as optional equipment. Finally, the bill adopted the same statutory definition for “street rod,” adopted in many other states.
