URGENT LEGISLATIVE ALERT (UPDATE)
Vermont Bill to Provide Titles for Exempted Vehicles to be Considered on April 7, 2015
Legislation (H.B. 61) to ease the burden on hobbyists by requiring the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, upon the owner’s request, to issue titles for vehicles not currently required to be titled under Vermont law will be considered by the House Transportation Committee on Tuesday, April 7, 2015. These vehicles would include those 15-years old and older.
We Urge You to Contact House Transportation Committee Members (List Attached) Immediately to Request Their Support for H.B. 61
- H.B. 61 would expand the out-of-state market for older Vermont motor vehicles and enhance their value to collectors.
- H.B. 61 authorizes the state to pass along to the vehicle owner reasonable costs (up to $100) for staff time incurred in investigating and fulfilling a title request.
DON’T DELAY! Please contact members of the Vermont House Transportation Committee immediately by phone or e-mail to request their support for H.B. 61.
Please e-mail a copy of your letter to Steve McDonald at stevem@sema.org. Also, please forward this Alert to your fellow car enthusiasts. Urge them to join the SAN and help defend the hobby! Thank you for your assistance.
