Virginia Bill to Provide for Permanent Vehicle Registration to be Considered by Full House Transportation Committee on Tuesday, January 27, 2015
Legislation (H.B. 1579) to provide that vehicle registrations would be permanent unless the vehicle ownership or the address where the vehicle is principally garaged changes will be considered on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 by the full House Transportation Committee. The bill was previously considered by a subcommittee.
We Urge You to Contact House Transportation Members (List Attached) Immediately to Request Their Support for H.B. 1579
- H.B. 1579 provides that the permanent registration would apply to vehicles registrations issued on or after July 1, 2015.
- H.B. 1579 provides that beginning July 1, 2015, the fee for issuance of a permanent vehicle registration would be the same as that previously charged for a 2-year registration. The fee charged for a change of the address at which the vehicle is principally garaged would be the same as that previously charged for a 1-year registration.
