Texas Governor Signs Bill to Protect Power Plant and Fuel Choice into Law

Big win in Texas! Governor Greg Abbott signed into law SAN-supported legislation (S.B. 1017) to ensure consumer choice of vehicle power plants and fuel. The new law will prevent a county or other local government in the state from limiting access to certain types of power sources. This action will go into effect on September 1, 2023.

The SAN believes that Texas residents, not the government, should decide what vehicles are best for them and their families. Keep in mind that the fight to protect internal combustion engines (ICE) across the country is far from over.
