Tennessee Military Vehicle Bill Becomes Law
Congratulations, Tennessee! Governor Bill Lee signed into law legislation (H.B. 149/S.B. 493) that will exempt historic military vehicles from the requirement to display license plates. Currently, “historic military vehicles” includes vehicles and trailers twenty-five years or older that were manufactured for use in any country’s military forces and maintained to represent the vehicle’s military design and markings. The new law will preserve the accurate display of these vehicles’ military design and markings as well as protect the aesthetic contours of antique military vehicles. By approving this proposal, the state recognizes important historical and patriotic purpose of government surplus (former military) vehicles.
Thank you for voicing support for this legislation!
