North Dakota Fails to Pass Single Plate Bill

Overview: North Dakota failed to pass SAN-supported legislation (H.B. 1295) that would have allowed the display of only a single, rear-mounted license plate for all passenger vehicles. Under current law, vehicles must display two license plates. The bill passed the House but failed a vote on the Senate floor.
