North Carolina Bill to Expand Eligibility for Antique Vehicle Registration Signed into Law
Congratulations, North Carolina! Legislation (H.B. 100) to lower the age of vehicles eligible for antique registration plates to 30 years old and older was signed into law by Governor Roy Cooper. Previously, only vehicles that were 35 years from the date of manufacture were eligible for historic registration. Owners with a vehicle 1943 model year or older will retain the option of choosing "Antique" or "Horseless Carriage" plates. This section of the legislation goes into effect immediately and applies to applications for Historic Vehicle Owner registration plates made on or after the date of signature, October 18th, 2019.
Thank you to those who supported this effort!
