New Jersey Legislature Adjourns

The New Jersey legislature failed to pass prior to adjournment SAN-supported legislation (S3181) that would have allowed the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission to reissue newly-created classic license plates for display on all vehicles. The new plates would have resembled those issued between 1979-1991, featuring sand yellow text on a blue background. The plates would have cost an additional $50 initially and a subsequent annual $10 fee. The bill passed the Senate Transportation Committee but was not taken up by Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee.
