Nebraska Legislature Adjourns
The Nebraska legislature failed to pass SAN-supported legislation (L.B. 807) to allow the display of only a single, rear-mounted license plate for all passenger vehicles. Under current law, most vehicles must display two license plates. In 2016, Nebraska passed into law legislation that allows owners of vehicles not originally equipped with a front bracket to request a single license plate (for a $100 annual fee). The Transportation and Telecommunications Committee failed to advance the bill prior to the adjournment of the session.
This bill is eligible to be reconsidered during next year’s legislative session.
Thank you to everyone who voiced support for this effort.
