Maryland Introduces Bill to Conditionally Prohibit California’s Car Ban

DON’T DELAY!  Please contact lawmakers to request their support for this bill:

Overview: Lawmakers in Maryland, including State Automotive Enthusiast Leadership Caucus Chair Del. Kevin Hornberger, has introduced SAN-supported legislation (H.B. 487) which would prevent the state from adopting California’s 2035 ban on the sale of new gas- and diesel-powered cars and trucks unless certain conditions are met. If approved, H.B. 487 would require the state to study the economic impact of such a ban on consumers and small businesses, as well as the electrical grid, and require authorization from the legislature to move forward. The House Environment and Transportation Committee is scheduled to hear the bill on February 24th.
