Act Now: Maryland Advances Bills to Approve Unfair Exhaust Noise Cameras
DON’T DELAY! Please contact lawmakers to request their opposition on these proposals:
Overview: Maryland has advanced SAN-opposed legislation (H.B. 212) to allow Anne Arundel, Montgomery, and Prince George’s County to enforce motor vehicle noise requirements using sound-activated enforcement devices. Rather than investing in unproven technology, Maryland needs to implement a fair testing procedure and decibel limit for vehicle owners accused of exhaust noise violations. The Senate passed H.B. 212, which now goes back to the House for consideration of the Senate's amendments.
