Louisiana Bill to Exempt Antique Motor Vehicles From State and Local Taxes Introduced

  • H.B. 502 defines an "antique motor vehicle" as a motor vehicle which was manufactured at least twenty-five years ago, is maintained by a private collector, and is not used for commercial purposes.
     
  • H.B. 502 exempts antique motor vehicles from any tax imposed by the state or by any parish, municipality, school board, or any other political subdivision.  
     
  • H.B. 502, if enacted into law, would become effective on July 1, 2017.
