Iowa Legislature Adjourns
The Iowa legislature failed to pass SAN-supported legislation (S.F. 411) to ensure consumer choice of vehicle power plants and fuel by preventing a county or city in the state from limiting access to certain types of power sources. Under current law, sales of new gas- and diesel-powered vehicles may be threatened if narrow energy policies are adopted.
The SAN believes that Iowa residents, not the government, should decide what vehicles are best for them and their families. The bill passed the Senate and House Commerce Committee, but the full House failed to consider the bill prior to the adjournment of the session.
Thank you to everyone who voiced support for this effort.
