Illinois legislation to regulate lamp covers dies in Senate

SEMA Action Network (SAN) succeeded in amending Illinois H.B. 2229, legislation that originally threatened to prohibit the installation and use of tinted lamp covers. Under the SAN amendment, tinted lamp covers would have been permitted when the lamps were not required to be in operation.

The bill passed in the State House, but died in the State Senate.  This bill will have to be reintroduced during the next legislative session if it is to be considered again.
