Illinois Fails to Pass Single Plate Bill as Legislature Adjourns

The Illinois legislature failed to pass SAN-supported legislation (H.B. 687) that would have allowed the display of only a single, rear-mounted license plate for all passenger vehicles. Under current law vehicles must display two license plates. The House Transportation Vehicles & Safety Committee failed to advance the bill prior to adjournment.
