Idaho House Fails to Approve Bill to Provide for Single License Plate for Certain Motor Vehicles

Legislation (H.B. 110) to allow for a single rear plate for motor vehicles that were not originally equipped with a display bracket on the front of the vehicle was not approved by the Idaho House of Representatives on a 28 – 42 vote.  The bill had been approved by the House Transportation and Defense Committee.  The measure would have saved money, conserved resources and brought Idaho in line with other states that have moved to a single plate requirement.  Further, it would have protected the aesthetic contours of collector cars and relieved vehicle owners of the burden of having to create mounting holes on some original bumpers.

Thank you to those who contributed to supporting the bill.
