SEMA SAN Strike Force

Spanning multiple generations, the Lucas family’s unique rides are clearly not “trailer queens.” Pictured are John Lucas (right) with son Jason (left) and grandson Townsend (center) with their dark blue 1966 Pontiac GTO and red 1986 Pontiac Fiero.

John Lucas is not only a friend to the automotive hobby, he is an investor in its future. As a lifelong “gearhead,” John has been involved in many facets of the pastime. Along the way, he has inspired participation among several family members as well. After discovering the SEMA Action Network (SAN) many years ago, he has consistently advocated greater involvement among friends new and old. “With legislative challenges mounting nationwide, we need to get everybody involved with the cause!” He has proudly distributed SAN promo items for this purpose, even using swap meet spaces to spread the word at major enthusiast events. A member of the Lafayette Kroozers, Lucas also connects the club’s annual Hot Summer Nights show to the Collector Car Appreciation Day celebration every July. In fact, proceeds raised from the club’s activities are donated to a local charity each year. The club is currently planning on helping children that have suffered fire injuries through the Indiana Burn Camp.

Best wishes to you and the other Lafayette Kroozers in 2014, John! Your service to our entire auto community is greatly appreciated.
