You may use the following points in your message:

  • S.B. 178 would increase costs, waste valuable resources and bring West Virginia in conflict with other states that are moving to a single plate requirement.

  • S.B. 178 would fail to protect the aesthetic contours of collector cars and force vehicle owners to take on the burden and cost of having to create mounting holes on some fabricated and original bumpers.

Overview: Legislation (S.B. 178) has been introduced to require registration plates on the front and back of all motor vehicles.  The bill would ensure that two license plates would be issued for both specialty and regular plates.  The bill has been referred to the Senate Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for consideration.
