Alaska Bill to Promote Outdoor Recreation Introduced

  • S.B. 65 establishes the Jonesville Public Use Area to protect, maintain, perpetuate, and enhance year-round public recreation. 
     
  • S.B. 65 recognizes the existing off-road motor vehicle trails and the access those trails provide, makes accommodations to conduct trail rehabilitation in a way that minimizes damage, and maintains and enhances off-road motor vehicle options and opportunities in the Jonesville Public Use Area.

Overview: Legislation (S.B. 65) establishing the Jonesville Public Use Area to protect, maintain, perpetuate, and enhance year-round public recreation was introduced.  The bill, would among other things, provide opportunities for the public to enjoy the area through a full spectrum of public uses, including the maintenance and enhancement of off-road vehicle recreational opportunities.
