SEMA SAN Strike Force

“I have been involved with the car collector hobby since my parents, Donald Sr. and Kathleen Holton, brought home their first Ford Model T in the 1960's,” remembers Don Holton. “I’ve been ‘infected’ with the collector car bug ever since!” The Elmira, New York, resident has subsequently participated and shown vehicles at local events, AACA local and national shows, the Car Craft Street Machine Nationals, Hot Rod Supercruises and various street rod/street machine events. By utilizing Facebook, he has also created an open forum for sharing information about car shows in the New York-Pennsylvania-New Jersey region at NY PA NJ Car Show Calendar.

While being a self-proclaimed Ford fanatic, this enthusiast’s collection is not limited strictly to the “blue oval camp.” As a member of many car clubs, Don’s array of vehicle interests are clearly evident. He belongs to the International Thunderbird Club, the Ford Galaxie Club of America, the Buick Club of America, the AACA, the Marquette Owners Registry for Enthusiasts and his local NY-PA Twin Tiers Vintage Car Club, to name just a few. Since 1983, Holton has offered appraisal services as another means of serving the needs of fellow club members.

For those that know Don, he has had lengthy history within local, state and federal legislative arenas, automotive and otherwise. As he explains, “I have been a SEMA Action Network (SAN) member since 2010 and post this information on my personal blog, www.holtononline.com.” Holton has urged like-minded club members to follow suit. “I suggest we embrace the SAN as a club and encourage all members to join and help make a stronger voice within OUR hobby nationwide.” In fact, he was responsible for tying in the 19th Annual ITC Convention to the Collector Car Appreciation Day (CCAD) celebration in 2012, since the July dates happened to coincide that year.

We all appreciate your spirit, Don. Keep up the good fight for our entire community!
